One of 17 designs in the NEW Ziggurat book, Åsa Tricosa Ziggurats · Colour & Texture
- eBook (included with the printed book) with 2 bonus patterns will be published later.
Over the Ha-Ha is a relaxed classic Ziggurat sweater with simple colourwork for yoke, hem, and cuffs – simple enough for beginners. Choose a yoke option: Gabriele's greenish Ha-Ha has fewer rounds of colourwork, ending about halfway through the armhole depth.
The colourwork on my grey/yellow Ha-Ha continues to almost the entire armhole depth.
Knit in the softest of soft yarns:
grey/bronze: Crave Yarn Caravan
grey/yellow: Carol Feller Stolen Stitches Nua Sport
Hem and cuffs are double knitted for a fine and fun finish. But of course you can knit the usual and simpler seamless lined Ziggurat hem – or make up your own.
- Ziggurat: everything is knitted in one go, top to bottom
- no seaming
- very few ends to weave in
- simple stranded colourwork
- for women & men & anyone looking for cosy pizzazz
- photo tutorials
As usual, there’s the Helpful Table to keep track of increases from shoulder to underarm cast-on.

With the Ziggurat method you fashion a tailored and flattering silhouette – a yoke that sits and fits just right across your shoulders and with no bagging at the armholes.
- tailored & top down
- entirely seamless
- sleeve caps are knitted along with the yoke for a 'set-in' sleeve
- neck-shaping (also in back)
- built-in everything (pockets, buttonbands, seamlessly lined hems)
- absolutely minimal sewing in of ends
The Ziggurat Steps are instantly recognisable from one pattern to another.
