- eBook (included with the printed book) with 2 bonus patterns will be published later.
Jatoba Jakke is a tailored cropped cardigan or jacket with overlapping fronts and a generous shawl collar – or not! There is also a short-collar version in the pattern.
Jatoba is the perfect between-the-seasons sweater.
The hand-dyed yarn from TheDanishDyelot is dreamily soft and warm and cushy.
The grey Jatoba with shorter collar is knitted with Istex Léttlopi.
Knit with your favourite worsted or aran weight yarn that knits to gauge.
There is optional simple colourwork on the back.
The classic Ziggurat shoulder is tailored but the overall fit is relaxed, even swingy.
- Ziggurat: everything is knitted in one go, top to bottom, starting with the collar
- no seaming
- no finishing work – bind off and you are done (as in done-done)
- photo tutorials
As usual, there’s the Helpful Table to keep track of increases from shoulder to underarm cast-on.

With the Ziggurat method you fashion a tailored and flattering silhouette – a yoke that sits and fits just right across your shoulders and with no bagging at the armholes.
- tailored & top down
- entirely seamless
- sleeve caps are knitted along with the yoke for a 'set-in' sleeve
- neck-shaping (also in back)
- built-in everything (pockets, buttonbands, seamlessly lined hems)
- absolutely minimal sewing in of ends
The Ziggurat Steps are instantly recognisable from one pattern to another.
