One of 17 designs in the NEW Ziggurat book, Åsa Tricosa Ziggurats · Colour & Texture
Braxas is relaxed and comfortable – and easy to knit. The hourglass cable is simple enough also for cable novices. A little extra ease in the shoulder makes this classic Ziggurat pullover even more comfy.
Braxas is proof that cosy doesn’t require aran or worsted weight. It looks its best, I think, in a lofty, long-haired yarn like Wensleydale or BFL-Masham blends, but I'm willing to be surprised by other choices. A light tweed yarn, for example.

With the Ziggurat method you fashion a tailored and flattering silhouette – a yoke that sits and fits just right across your shoulders and with no bagging at the armholes.
- tailored & top down
- entirely seamless
- sleeve caps are knitted along with the yoke for a 'set-in' sleeve
- neck-shaping (also in back)
- built-in everything (pockets, buttonbands, seamlessly lined hems)
- absolutely minimal sewing in of ends
The Ziggurat Steps are instantly recognisable from one pattern to another.
