You have knitted something beautiful!
Congratulations!
A sweater maybe.
Or perhaps a shawl.
You want to finish this with a bind off that has the right sort of give.
You don't want a bind off that is too tight or constrictive.
What you need is a STRETCHY BIND OFF.
Here's how you do it:

ready to bind off

1. k2
(knit 2 stitches to get started)

2. sl2 to LN...
(slip 2 stitches to Left Needle)

3. ... k2tog tbl
(knit the slipped stitches together through the back loop)
You have bound off your first stitch. Good!
The repeat then continues (k1, sl2 to LN, k2tog tbl) as follows:

4. k1

5. sl2 to LN

6. ... k2tog tbl
That's it.

Repeat Steps 4–6 until all stitches are bound off.
tip: check your tension every now and then to make sure you have the sort of stretchiness you like

If you want to get fancy you can add little picots along the way, as I did on my Mysteriosa Shawl.
Or not.
Yarn used in photos: Fyberspates Vivacious DK, a lovely, sproingy superwash merino.
