Wrap Sorana
Wrap Sorana is one of 12 designs in the Jubilæum Collection, celebrating 10 years of Ziggurating and design.
Together with Vandretur (a saddle Ziggurat), Wrap Sorana makes up Chapter 5, which completes the collection.
(Almost. For owners of the eBook, there is one more treat coming up: the second bonus pattern.)
Wrap Sorana is a big warm hug of a wrap, knitted with soft and cushy Cumbria Fingering, a sportweight yarn (despite what the description or name may say!).
(Find Cumbria Fingering in the US from Yarn Culture.)
You’ll quickly settle in to the easy rhythm of the mistake rib – with the same row, a 3-stitch repeat, on both sides of the fabric, interrupted only at the join between the two colours.
A final splash of colour finishes the wrap with a little flourish. It is introduced via a lateral braid and continues with only a few short rows before the bind off – you will find a photo tutorial in the pattern.
If lateral braids are too much of a bother for your taste, the braid can be replaced by a couple of garter rows.
Size is eminently adaptable. Also yarn choice – you can go lighter and knit with a fingering/sock yarn, or heavier and knit with DK-wieght or Aran.
A chart illustrates the progressive colour shift, edging and the mistake rib. As always there are also detailed written instructions as well as, photo tutorials and a schematic.
