Fubarite

Fubarite is one of 16 designs in  Åsa Tricosa Ziggurats: 16 elegantly seamless knits

(available from Shephardess & other stockists)

Now also available as a single pattern on Ravelry.

This tailored turtleneck has all the virtues of a Ziggurat with the added bonus of exquisite detailing. They come together in this modernist take on classic styling. Choose the sleek or the more relaxed, wider version.

The smooth ply structure of Rohrspatz & Wollmeise DK brings the symmetrical textured cords in the lower body into relief. Optional bust darts and waist shaping allow you to customise fit. The face-framing stand-up collar is knitted sideways onto the neckline in a dramatic textured rib. The lined hem is a smart finishing detail and an excuse to add a surprising burst of colour, in this case the zingy Wollmeise fingering weigth (Pure), Zarte Knospe (tender buds).
A word of advice: The rib of the collar and cuffs does not behave equally well in all yarns, and some become too loose and floppy. Therefore it is even more important than usual to knit and block a swatch before knitting with abandon.
