Filijokus

IMG_8951

Filijokus has stripes in at least two directions, a generous neckline, some waist and bust shaping, and even a little coin pocket.

The stripes on the cuffs and collar run perpendicularly to the sweater stripes.
I like the sneaky little pocket but if you wish, you can make the small pocket larger, or even make two.

As on all Ziggurat garments, everything is knitted in one go, with only the collar and pocket lining worked last.

It’s seamless and … did I say striped? Yes, I believe I did…

The set-in sleeves are knitted in the round from cap to cuff, and the cuff itself is knitted sideways (and attached along the opening) when you get there.

The suggested yarn, Semilla DK (an organic wool by BC Garn), produces a supple, slightly lighter than normal DK  fabric for an in-between seasons sweater or for cool summer evenings – or a drizzly day. I was surprised how much I liked the knitted fabric as the yarn seemed to have too much twist for my taste while in the skein. I’ll definitely knit with Semilla again.
